I will not bend in what I believe to be accepted

Dear family,
It saddens my heart to see the anger and hatred so freely spoken in our world today, even by those who claim to walk in the light of Christ. As a staunch conservative Catholic, I have been called every four letter word known to man.
Let us remember that our words hold great power...not only to build up, but to tear down.
As followers of Christ, we are called to something greater.
Jesus Himself told us, 'Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven' (Matthew 5:44-45).
This is not an easy call, but it is a holy one.
When I stand firm in my beliefs, it is not out of hatred or pride, but out of love for God, for this country, and for the truth He has written on my heart.
I will not bend in what I believe to be accepted, but I will not return hatred for hatred, either.
Instead, I will continue to pray for those who hurl insults or ridicule, just as I pray for myself to grow ever closer to God.
My friends, let us be light in this world, not by compromising our faith, but by living it fully...with love, truth, and grace.
The world is watching, and so is our Lord.
Let Him find us faithful.
May God bless each and every one of you, especially those who find it hard to bless others in return.
He loves you, and so do I.
